Transmedia Assignment, T4

For CIU211, our class was put into teams to create a transmedia assignment based on topical discussions pertaining to the class. Our topic was transhumanism, and drawing inspiration from games such as 'The Walking Dead' (OToole, 2017), our team decided to make a decision based, educational game on the matter by creating a scenario.

The game is entitled 'H++' and our team consisted of:

-Game Developer: Cameron Fernandez

-Graphic Designer: Homa Parvas

-Game Programmer: Noaman Khalil

-Audio Engineer: Saif Qassim (Myself)

Our story was about an athlete who needed to get a biological implant to help his career, and meets with a stranger in a cafeteria in the hospital, discussing his moral dilemma of whether he should go through with the surgery or not. Voice over audio was recorded for the protagonist that asks the questions in the game, his name is Abdullah from India and so I had to perform this role in an attempted (slightly) Indian accent.

First, a decision tree was made to determine the questions to be asked and the different answers that are given throughout the game. This later was turned into a rough cut of the script which was later polished to make the dialogue flow more naturally.

Then the voice over was recorded and mixed similarly as the same 'radio show' style as mentioned in the previous "Voice over assignment" blog, along with a pitch shift to slightly change the voice's characterisation drawing inspiration from games such as 'Jackbox games' and 'The Stanley Parable.' (DoughnutFoundation, 2014).
